Bio Engineering Resources
To craft all the equipment needed to engineer a pet, the
Bio Engineer needs resources of high quality and a lot of them as well. The resources needed are Steel, Iron, Copper, Aluminum, Low-Grade Ore, Gemstone, Radioactive, Gas, Fiberplast, Known Liquid Petrochem Fuel, Wood and Corn. In order to craft the pet foods, Meat, Hide, Water, Oats, Berries and Bantha Butter are needed. Some pet food recipe's call for organic resources, buet that's basically everything else used in these recipe's, apart from Batha Butter.
Equiment Resources
The resources for the equipment, and consumables, have some specific demands to them, especially when the BE wants to double cap (getting Purity and Mutagen to the max) them. The recipe's for these equipement and consumable items call for characteristics that can go up to 1000. This means that for certain resources, the BE will have to resort to JTL (Jump to Lightspeed) resources. Especially steel and aluminum are the JTL resources a BE needs as the conductivity on them is higher then with the standard resources.
Steel
Steel is a resource that is used a lot. The used characteristics are OQ, CD, DR, UT and SR. Especially the CD (conductivity) presents a challenge here. It is advisable to use one of the JTL steels when CD is required. There are two:
- Crystallized Bicorbantium Steel
- Hardened Arveshium Steel
When looking for steel that the characteristics OQ, UT, SR and DR, any steel with the characteristics OQ, UT and SR over 900 would be good. Duralloy and/or Mustafarian steel are really good for this.
Copper
Copper is kind of in the same boat as steel, save that DR is a characteristic not required in a BE recipe for pet engineering. Big advantage of copper to a BE is that they're not dependent on a JTL copper. The copper that is most desirable is Polysteel copper, followed closely by Mustafarian copper. Both have CD that goes up to 1000, just as OQ, UT and SR.
Aluminum
Aluminum is also like steel, in the sense that a JTL version of it is preferred. In the recipe's, it's used characteristics are OQ and CD. The aluminum's to look for are, in order;
- Perovskitic Aluminum (JTL Resource)
- Phrik Aluminum
- Mustafarian Aluminum
Perovskitic is preferred as the CD and OQ on it can go as high as 1000. The other two, Phrik and Mustafarian aluminum, have a CD that can go as high as 800. If choosing between those two, check both OQ and CD and pick accordingly.
Iron
Iron also uses the OQ, CD, DR, UT and SR characteristics. The issue with Iron is that the CD on it will always be lower then desired; it hardly goes over 500. This means that when a recipe calls for Iron with CD, it has to be offset with another resource with a high CD. When looking for Iron, focus on the other characteristics. This will primarily lead to two irons:
- Kammris Iron
- Mustafarian Iron
Both have the characteriscs that can go as high as 1000, save for CD. Kammris is preferred as it can be harvested with harvesters.
Low-Grade Ore
When looking for low-grade ores, it is advised to search for either an intrusive or extrusive ore. The other low-grade ores live up to their name and are usually of to low quality to use in the recipe's. The characteristics to look for are OQ, UT, SR and DR. This will generally mean you will end up with:
- Mustafarian Intrusive ore
- Mustafarian Extrusive ore
- Vintrium Extrusive ore
These low-grade ores have their characteristics go up to 1000, far exceeding all other ores.
Gemstone
Gemstone uses the same characteristics in the BE pet engineering recipe's as low-grade ore. It doesn't really matter which gemstone is used but it preferred to end up with these:
- Mustafarian Type 1 Crystalline Gemstone
- Mustafarian Type 2 Crystalline Gemstone
- Vertex Crystalline Gemstone
- Mustafarian Type 1 Amorphous Gemstone
- Mustafarian Type 2 Amorphous Gemstone
- Bal'ta'ran Crystal Amorphous Gemstone
All the mentioned gemstones have their used characteristics go as high as 1000.
Radioactive
Radioactive material uses the characteristics OQ and DR. Look for a high level gas:
- Class 6 Radioactive
- Class 7 Radioactive
The class 7 radioactive is preferred as it's characteristics can go as high as 1000. The class 6 make a decent replacement when class 7 is not available or to bad and when running out of high quality radioactive. Radioactive can be harvested by using a Fusion Power Generator or a mineral harvester.
Gas
There are recipe's that call for just gas, and those that call for inert gas. To minimize confusion, inert gas is preferred; it can be used in both cases. On the other hand it can be advantageous to have both inert and reactive gas as a resource and use the inert gas only for those recipe's that ask for it. Gas only uses OQ as a characteristic so look for that. Usually that means these gasses:
- Obah Inert Gas
- Culsion Inert Gas
That last one is also used by
Jedi to craft lightsabers, so getting a boatload of it might come in handy.
Fiberplast
Fiberplast uses the characteristics OQ and DR. Any fiberplast with these two characteristics over 900 will do. Just drop a number of chemical harvesters and pump it up.
Known Liquid Petrochem Fuel
This resource is in the same boat as fiberplast; any with OQ and DR of over 900 is good.
Wood
Wood also uses OQ and DR. Any wood would do, but a deciduous wood is preferred; the OQ and DR are generally very high and anything over 900 is good. When not available, go for any wood with OQ and DR over 900 (OQ being the more important of the two).
Corn
Same as with wood, only prefer the domesticated variant. If not available, pick any with high OQ and DR.
Pet Food Resources
The resources used for pet food are:
- Meat
- Hide
- Water
- Oats
- Berries
Some pet food recipe's call for organic resources, but all the afore mentioned resources are organic, so any of them can be used. Harvest them with a flora harvester.
There are also recipe's that need Bantha Butter. Bantha Butter is an intermediate product. The BE is not able to make this themselves, as they do not have the recipe for it. It has to be purchased from a
Chef. As this is a product where the characteristics of the resources do not matter, the resources (milk and fruit) can be harvested by the BE.
When all resources and intermediate products are present, it's best to make a factory schematic for the pet foods.
